Mythos Quotes

And such resurrections are invariably for the doing of malevolent deeds and for the detriment of others.

No longer can I sleep as my dreams betray me. The smell, the taste, the touch...why are they all so real? I awake clawing at my body like a rake does to fallen leaves. The dream has repeated itself twelve nights in a row and each time the horrors grow ever more realistic. What does "Fides", "evoco", "adduco" mean? "Malus", I know it means evil. I don't know how I know, but I know it means evil.

The dreams always begin the same. A black temple like a cathedral dragged through the abyssal plains of hell. High pillars hold up this defacated place and each is inscribed with words whose names have long been forgotten. In between the pillars is empty space with a floor splattered with the blood of those few unfortunate enough to enter this place. Ghouls in black robes move around chanting words that no longer have meaning. Their faces -- if they can be called that -- are white as snow with eyes a purplish, red that have no soul. There are many of them and then the screams begin.

In the dream, I always turn my head to look towards the screams and the images never leave my mind. A young woman is tied up to the wall naked next to another young man who himself is naked. They're both being tortured...no not tortured...they're being prepared for some ritual. The ghouls throw blood on the man and carve a small symbol into the woman's abdomen. They both scream. Time passes, I hear insects chewing, everything goes black, all I know is that the man is being eaten by insects. The ghouls yell, "Baoht Z'uqqa..." The smell of rotting corpses and feces overwhelm my senses; then I feel the insects all over me, stinging, biting, enjoying...

The last image is always the most horrifying. The creature is enormous with a gaping maw oozing with venom and numerous eyes that show you the horrors of hell. At that point, I'm no longer an impartial observer but I become the woman. Tied up, naked, alone, horrified, and then, consumed in an orgy of pain that lasts an eternity. I / She throws up vomit that the beast makes her consume and then finally, a voice of calm in the hell...

"Fides  en Rook; Evoco praesidium in alter qui adduco malus..."

Now I sit here in my bed pondering those damn images. When I go back to sleep, they won't be there. On some nights they are but never as vivid. Still, before I go to sleep, I check my daughter's room. She always looks like the woman in the dream...always...
