Mythos Quotes

By Their smell can men sometimes know Them near, but of Their semblance can no man know, saving only in the features of those They have begotten on mankind; and of those are there many sorts, differing in likeness from man's truest eidolon to that shape without sight or substance which is Them.

This thread discusses the Content article: Review: The Book of Old Ones - Worst Idea Ever

As many followers od the old ones, Scorpio is only trying to fool people to open the forbidden gate and let the old ones in the world of the living. It's not coincidence that The book of the old ones is supposed to bring only benefits to whoever casts its spells, Many books of that kind have been written since the middle ages, who hasn't head about people casting spells or writing pentagrams or reading about magic and then everyone is killed! (Or according to authorities, the have an accident) I Would strongly recomend you to include this idea in your post. As well as recomend anyone interested in magic to study deeply the meaning of each word, simbol, ritual and time of each spell before opening unknown doors.

Secretly, Darkfox.

I tried the ritual of the calling of the old ones & in the first week I saw two large flashes of white light about 5 feet high & 3 feet wide. I also i saw two orbs of golden light. I also felt intense tingling inside my forehead & also very strong waves of energy pass through my body. This is what Scorpio said can happen when practicing the rituals from his book 'The Book of Old Ones'. It works for me

Um, you do realize that the idea of so much power being in a book like that is kinda...well its just not going to happen. Unless you actually believe it, its powerless.

Its the same way with everything. If somebody constantly tells you that the necronomicon will drive you insane and nobody says anything different. What are you going to believe?

The truth of the matter is, anybody can make their own necronomicon in their own way and fashion. If they tell you it works, and you believe that it does. Then it works, period.

The bound in human skin version filled with arcane secrets and twisted symbols and ancient beings from beyond countless voids of terror that man was never ment to see, or a children's book illustrated with kid versions of the book.

It all depends on what you believe and are willing to put into it that makes all the difference.

If all it took was some simple illustrations and it would work, the world should have ended by now eons ago, but it doesn't. Truth is nobody these days has any kind of idea of what they want to do.

Authentic Necronomicon, or ripped off kid's book. It really doesn't matter what you have. If you believe that something will work. Then it will. And if it doesn't you will find away to make it work.

My advice is to look, but don't read, touch or incite anything you can't fully understand. Its best to just not mess with anything you can find your self believing in to easily. Espcially of this nature.

The power of the mind is something not to be underestimated, at all.

I followed the book of old ones and now i have a new car, a brand new girlfriend and a great new job.

My dishes are always washed , and my cat has no fleas, my socks don't have holes and with all the new money i quit my job and all i do now is travel around the world with my new friends Shub-Niggurath, Cthulhu, Hastur, and Shub-Niggurath.

Thank you Scorpio!
